Prescribed at 21, for a difficult time
Katie was prescribed fluoxetine (Prozac) at 21, during a difficult period in her life, and stayed on it for about three years.
She describes emotional blunting, sexual dysfunction, loss of attraction and an inability to form romantic connections. It took her a long time to see that these had started after she began taking SSRIs. She has now lived with them for about 14 years.
