Team Melcangi Launches Milano Project to Advance PFS Research
The PFS Foundation, in collaboration with Professor Roberto Cosimo Melcangi from the University of Milano, has launched the groundbreaking “Milano Project.” This initiative aims to accelerate research on Post-Finasteride Syndrome (PFS) with the goal of moving from animal models to human clinical trials. The Milano Project seeks to identify potential therapies for PFS, with allopregnanolone as the initial therapeutic target, and is set to be completed by the end of 2026.
Professor Melcangi and his team have been investigating PFS for over a decade, and this project represents a critical step forward in understanding the condition. The project will focus on speeding up current investigations, launching new studies to establish biomarkers, and compiling comprehensive molecular and genetic data. These efforts are aimed at laying the groundwork for future clinical trials in human patients, which would be a significant milestone in PFS research.
To support this crucial work, the PFS Foundation is seeking donations to help fund the remaining budget of $270,000. Contributions can be made directly through the PFS Foundation or through affiliated charities like SIDEfxHUB.
