Donate to PFS Research
Support ongoing research into PFS. As a neutral charity, we facilitate direct donations to research studies and provide links to our partners’ websites for more information. Thank you for your consideration.
PFS Foundation
The Milano Project
The PFS Foundation supports the Milano Project, led by Roberto Cosimo Melcangi at the University of Milano, to transition PFS research from animal models to human trials. Key goals include:
- Accelerating two ongoing projects and launching five new studies to find biomarkers and treatments.
- Aiming to complete these studies by 2026 and publish findings by 2027.
- Proving PFS’s existence, detailing its symptoms, and exploring allopregnanolone as a treatment.
- Seeking regulatory approval for trials and partnering with external researchers to advance therapies quickly.
The project needs $300,000 in donations to achieve these targets and hasten effective PFS treatments.
PFS Network
PFS Network supports key research into the genetic and epigenetic foundations of PFS:
- Genetic Investigation at Tampere University: Utilizing Whole Genome Sequencing to explore why some individuals develop PFS, focusing on genetic predispositions and identifying genes linked to common symptoms.
- Epigenetic Study at the University Medical Center Schleswig-Holstein: Investigating changes in methylation and chromatin structure to understand androgen sensitivity and gene expression alterations in PFS patients, aiming to model the disease in animals and identify potential treatments.
These initiatives seek to enhance understanding, diagnosis, and treatment of PFS through cutting-edge genetic and epigenetic research.
